...Locally dense fog possible overnight into early Sunday morning...

Patchy fog has developed across the region and will continue
through early Sunday morning. Locally dense fog is
possible...particularly in the usual fog prone areas...with
visibilities dropping to one-half to one-quarter of a mile.

If you have to travel overnight...slow down when driving through
foggy areas and leave enough distance between you and the vehicle
in front of you. Be vigilant and be ready to adjust travel speeds
when traveling in and out of foggy areas. Give yourself extra time
to reach your destination, and put your headlights on low beam
when driving through the dense fog.

Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio and other local media for
further details or updates.

...PATCHY DENSE FOG POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT ACROSS MUCH OF THE WESTERN
CAROLINAS...

Abundant low level moisture from recent rainfall is combining with
light winds across the region to produce areas of fog across much
of the western Carolinas. Patchy dense fog could form overnight,
especially across the northern mountains, the foothills, and the
piedmont of western North Carolina, as well in the northern
Upstate of South Carolina from Spartanburg County to Chester
County and points north. Visibility may be restricted to one
quarter mile or less at times in the patchy dense fog and the
visibility could vary greatly over short distances.

Allow extra travel time and stopping distance if you must travel
through the affected area overnight. Use low beam headlights and
fog lamps while driving in order to see and be seen by others. The
visibility may improve as heavier rain showers arrive from the
south toward daybreak.

...Patchy Dense Fog to Hamper Travel Overnight...

Fog is developing once again across the region as a result of
moist ground, light or calm winds, and a wave of rainfall that
moved through the area during the evening. Visibilities are
dropping below 1 mile along the Interstate 77 corridor as well as
parts of the Interstate 81 corridor and adjacent areas.
Visibilities of 1/2 mile or less have been noted along the higher
terrain in these same areas. Conditions are likely to worsen as
the night progresses.

If you are traveling about tonight, especially along Interstate
77 or Interstate 81, be prepared for areas of severely reduced
visibilities. Reduce speed, use low beam headlights, and allow
for extra distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.

If conditions continue to worse, a dense fog advisory may be
required.
