High clouds overnight into Tuesday -Mild this week – Cold air for Sunday!

Monday, November 20, 2017 –

Good Evening.  We had a cold start with a lot of frost across the region.  Check out these morning low temperatures.

We warmed nicely through the afternoon.

This will be a relatively quiet week with mild temperatures.  We will have to contend with some mid and high level clouds tonight into Tuesday.  You can see the moisture across the southeast today on this satellite image from NOAA.

By looking at that satellite image you can also see that the pattern this week is a little more zonal across the east.  That means we will not have any real cold air intrusion through Friday.  Notice the moisture across the Pacific Northwest.  That part of the country will stay very active with rain, snow and wind.  Here is a better look at the northwest.  Notice the moisture plum extends well into the Pacific.

We keep some clouds in the area tonight into Tuesday and Tuesday night.  We can’t rule out a few sprinkles Tuesday night especially across the mountains.

8 PM Tonight – Partly cloudy skies will prevail with chilly temperatures.

7 AM Tuesday – We wake to a mix of sun and clouds with cold temperatures.

Noon Tuesday – Take a look at the temperatures.  Mild air will flow in from the southwest.  We keep a mix of sun and clouds.

5 PM Tuesday – We maintain variable cloudy skies with a slight chance of a showers especially in North Carolina.

The rest of this week looks great with relatively mild temperatures and dry conditions through Friday.

6 AM Wednesday – Partly cloudy skies and cold temperatures are forecast for the region.

1 PM Wednesday – Sunny skies are forecast for the region.

6:45 PM Wednesday – We keep fair skies across the region.  Great weather for travel.

Noon Thursday – Thanksgiving Day.  Beautiful weather – sunny with temperatures in the upper 40’s and low 50’s.

7 PM Thursday – We keep the quiet weather in place.

8 AM Friday – Attention Shoppers – Weather Looks Great!  Temperatures will be near 58 to 60 degrees!

Enjoy the warm this weekend, cold air will return on Sunday.

Here is a look at some of the forecast low temperatures by Monday morning.

The Storm Team 7-Day Forecast brings scattered showers to the area on Saturday with some snow flurries possible Sunday.
