Get Ready for a taste of Spring! Temperatures warm through the weekend.

November 1, 2017 –

Good evening.  We had a cool start to the day, but we we slowly warmed through the afternoon.  Here is the climate data for the Tri-Cities Airport.

We have been watching a shift in the jet stream.  The cold air is now moving into the western states while a ridge will build over parts of the southeast.  Here is a look at the current jet stream.

Cold air will push south across the west into the weekend as we see a shift in the jet stream.  This will allow for what we call a ridge of high pressure to build into the deep south.

High pressure will build into the southeast which will bring mild air to the Tennessee Valley.

Take a look at our temperature trend through the weekend.

With the west and southwest flow continuing across the area, we will keep clouds and passing showers from time to time through early Saturday.  Here are the Storm Team 11 Forecast Maps.

4 AM Thursday – Cloudy skies with a few showers possible across the region.

10 AM Thursday  – Variable cloudy skies and mild temperatures with a few spotty showers.

Noon Thursday – Look for a mix of sun and clouds with a few spotty showers.

4 PM Thursday – Sun and clouds with mild temperatures.

It looks like our best chance of rain will come Friday into early Saturday.  This is the rainfall potential for that time period.

A front will move across the Ohio and Tennessee Valley Friday which will bring that chance of rain.  The front will stall and return to the north during the weekend which keeps us mild.

8 PM Thursday – We maintain the cloud cover.

6 AM Friday – The front draws closer increasing the clouds and the rain chance.

8 AM Friday – We will start to see some scattered showers.

Noon Friday – The front stalls just to our northwest which will increase our chance of rain through the afternoon.

5 Pm Friday – Scattered showers willlbe possible.

7 AM Saturday – Showers and clouds will be possible across the region with mild temperatures.

6 PM Saturday – Look for variable cloudy skies with mild temperatures.

7 AM Sunday – We may have clouds, but temperatures will be mild.

Look at the mild weather on the way through the weekend into early next week.

We just might see some colder air around the 10th and 11th of November so enjoy the weekend.  Stay tuned!

Have a great night!
