Happy Wednesday everyone! Brian in with the blog tonight.
Overall it was a pretty quiet day of weather with lots of sunshine. It was warm outside with highs reaching the 70s for most of us.
Expect another day in the 70s tomorrow before we see some cooler, but seasonal, temperatures returning on Friday and Saturday. Our temperatures will stay in the 60s and 70s for the upcoming week. Here’s a look at our temperature trend for the next 6 days.
A cold front will move through late Thursday night Friday, which is why we’ll see our temperatures drop. We will also see showers and storms as this front moves through.
A few showers may be possible at times tomorrow, but our best rain chances will be Thursday night into Friday morning. Some thunderstorms may be on the strong side with heavy rain and gusty winds possible at times.
This storm system looks to be a good rainmaker for us, as we look to pick up on at least 0.5″ of rain. The mountains of western NC will likely see more rainfall, possibly upward of a couple inches.
It will also be breezy over the next few days. A high wind watch is in effect for the mountains of northeast TN Thursday night into Friday. Wind gusts across the higher elevations may reach upward of 50-60 mph.
Here’s a look at what our sustained wind speeds may look like through Friday night.
Here’s your 7 day forecast. We could see more showers and storms early next week, but will stay warm for the next 7 days.
Have a great night!
