Sunny and Mild Thursday – Snow possible this weekend!

Wednesday, March 8, 2017 –

Good evening!  What a beautiful day we had with plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures.  The Tri-Cities Airport had a high of 62 after a low this morning of 37 degrees.

This satellite imagery from NOAA shows how clear our skies were today.

Take a look at our weekend weather maker off the west coast.  This system could bring rain and snow to the region with much cold air!

Thursday will be beautiful with plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures.  My forecast high is 68 degrees.

Take a look at the forecast maps:

8 PM Clear skies and chilly.

7 AM Thursday:  Clear and Cold.

Noon Thursday:  Sunny and mild.

We will watch a cold front bring an increase in clouds late Thursday night and a chance of rain overnight and into early Friday.

4 AM Friday – Showers possible.

A stronger system could bring a chance of accumulating snow to the area late Saturday night into early Sunday.

Take a look at the forecast maps:

You can see the area of low pressure moving through the south late Saturday.

This low pressure system could bring snow to our region very late Saturday into early Sunday.

The low pressure system will move east of our area early Sunday.

I just want to show you this map which shows the possibility for snowfall accumulation.  I have not put snow totals on since we are days out and the forecast could change.  Stay up-to-date with the latest weather right here on News Channel 11.

Here is a look at the Storm Team 7-Day Forecast.  Cold air and a hard freeze will be possible late in the weekend and early next week.

Have a great night!
