Good afternoon! What a beautiful afternoon we had. We broke the record high of 72 degrees set back in 1982 as the mercury this afternoon soared to 77 at the Tri-Cities Airport. Knoxville had a record high of 78 degrees and Chattanooga hit 79 degrees.

Take a look at this satellite imagery from NOAA. You can see the storm system across the Ohio Valley. This will continue to move towards this area late tonight.

The threat for strong to severe thunderstorms continues tonight. As these storms approach our area after Midnight, we too will have the potential for damaging winds and hail.
The threat of severe weather will move east on Saturday. We could still see a few thunderstorms early.
Take a look at our forecast maps. Storms will arrive in our area well after Midnight.
1 AM Saturday – Storms will be moving into the region from the west.
3 AM Saturday – Showers and thunderstorms will be moving across the area. Some of the storms could be strong to severe.
6 AM Saturday – We keep the chance of showers and a few thunderstorms.
Noon Saturday – We hold onto a few clouds and the winds will pick up from the west. Cooler temperatures will prevail.
5 PM Saturday – Sunny skies and chilly temperatures will prevail.
High pressure will bring sunshine to the area with chilly temperatures on Sunday.
Our next weather maker will bring clouds and showers back to the area early next week with a chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday. Rainfall could be locally heavy.
Tuesday – Rain move in from the southwest.
