JONESBOROUGH, TN (WJHL) – Traffic is moving smoothly again on Highway 11-E in Jonesborough after a crash backed up traffic for about 45 minutes.
Earlier this morning, Greeneville Mayor David Crum told News Channel 11 traffic was backed up between Telford and Jonesborough.
According to THP, a Town of Jonesborough pick-up truck was traveling north when a Ford Explorer was trying to cross the lanes at the intersection of 11E and Sand Valley Road. The driver of the Ford Explorer, according to THP, failed to yield to the truck and the Explorer pulled into the path of the truck.
Officers on the scene said the driver of the Explorer has injuries and is currently being treated at the Johnson City Medical Center.
The driver of the Explorer will be charged with failure to yield, says THP.
