ABINGDON, VA (WJHL) – Washington County, VA deputies say three people are behind bars after a traffic stop in Abingdon. Deputies were alerted after a black truck was seen leaving Walmart. Dispatchers received info that the people inside the truck had possibly stolen some merchandise.
Deputies said they stopped the truck on Cummings Street. Four people we inside the vehicle, but one of the people ran away – according to a release.
A K-9 alerted deputies to narcotics in or around the vehicle. Deputies said they proceeded to search the inside of the vehicle and found a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue and several hypodermic needles. In addition, marijuana was found on one of the people.
As a result Charles Mackenzie Miller, 21 of Abingdon, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently behind bars at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail here he is being held on a $2,500 bond.
Cassidy Nichole Herndon, 21 of Abingdon, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was taken to the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail and is being held without bond.
And Shane Aaron Porter, 20, of Meadowview, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. He is being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail on a $3,500 bond.
