ABINGDON, VA (WJHL) — A Southwest Virginia man who was arrested on a warrant is now facing more charges.
Washington County Virginia deputies were called to the Abingdon Jail on Friday. There deputies say they talked to a person who found a backpack possibly containing a meth lab.
Sheriff Fred Newman said detectives determined the bag belonged to 28 year-old Austin Norris from Meadowview, Virginia.
Norris had been arrested on a warrant earlier that day.
Detectives said they found shake and bake cook bottles, items used to make meth and already prepared meth in the bag.
Sheriff Fred Newman said when Norris was questioned, Norris admitted the bag was his and that he had cooked meth at his home.
He is charged with three counts of possession with intent to manufacture and other drug related charges.
