APPALACHIA, VA (WJHL) – The search for a Southwest Virginia murder suspect is still ongoing and the U.S. Marshals Service is now offering a reward for information leading to his arrest.
The Wise County Sheriff’s Office said the U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Eric Monroe Jones.
Jones faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of a woman in Appalachia on Nov. 27.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in the search for Jones, who is also charged with use of a firearm while committing first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violation for attempted murder for hire.
Police said Jones should be considered armed and dangerous and said he should not be approached.
Anyone with information that could help police locate Jones is asked to call the Wise County Sheriff’s Office, 911 or your local law enforcement agency.
