Man charged in 2014 Roan Mountain murder sentenced on separate endangerment, assault charges

CARTER COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – A man charged in a 2014 murder in Roan Mountain was sentenced on other charges Tuesday.

Judge Stacy Street sentenced Anthony Lacy to four years and over $7,500 in fines after he was convicted of reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.

Prosecutors charged Lacy with attempted second-degree murder after he assaulted a Carter County jailer.

A jury convicted Lacy on the lesser charges he was sentenced to on Tuesday.

Lacy is scheduled to go to trial March 17 for the murder of Danny Vance, who was killed in his Roan Mountain home in 2014.

The prosecution filed to have Lacy and his co-defendant in that murder case, Demetrice Cordell, separated. The court will rule on that motion within the next 10 days.
