Interactive map shows status of individual addresses in Gatlinburg following wildfires

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – More than 14,000 people who were forced to evacuate the Gatlinburg area Monday night are still anxiously waiting to get back home.

But many are wondering if they’ll even have anything to return home to.

Gatlinburg City and Sevier County leaders have created an interactive map to show the status of individual addresses.

The website can be found on Facebook by searching for the “Chimney Tops 2 Fire” page.

There you will find a link that will take you to an interactive map.

The Mayor of Gatlinburg says it’s still a work in progress. As damage reports come in, the map will be updated.

Just because something is highlighted in red, it does not mean that all of that property was damaged.

Leaders said they hope to have the main roads to Gatlinburg open by Wednesday so home and business owners can get back to their properties.
