Food City partners with Bristol Motor Speedway in Gatlinburg fire relief efforts

BRISTOL, VA (WJHL) – Two of the regions largest businesses said they are going to step in to help people in Sevier County out during this disastrous time.

Food City announced today that it will contribute $50,000 dollars for relief efforts.

The company made the announcement on Wednesday at it’s Euclid Avenue store in Bristol, VA.

Food City is partnering with Bristol Motor Speedway for the Gatlinburg-Sevier county relief fund.

You can make monetary donations at the checkout at any Food City store.

“It’s part of our culture. We only succeed when communities succeed. We think we are a good enough grocer that we will get out market share of the community if it does well. And right now Gatlinburg and Seveirville, they are hurting and they are hurting bad”, said Food City President and CEO Steve Smith.

Bristol Motor Speedway will collect donations at the Pinnacle Speedway in Lights.
