Greeneville, TN (WJHL) — Power outages and high winds led Greene County emergency management to open an emergency shelter.
The shelter is at The Opportunity House, 205 North Irish Street.
The shelter is for anyone seeking shelter from the wind, according to Bill Brown, Greene County EMA Director.
According to Greeneville Light and Power, about 1,200 homes were without power as of 10 p.m..
Brown said he’d heard several reports of property damage caused by the high winds.
