From homeless to artist, local woman paints downtown Johnson City businesses

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – A woman who was once homeless in Johnson City is now using her artistic talents to thank those who helped her along the way.

Mary Minor told News Channel 11 she spent time living in a tent on the Tweetsie Trail, now she’s painting local businesses Christmas themed.

Minor wants to say thank you to Johnson City Police, the community and local businesses who gave her a place to perform music. She’s now inspired to expresspainting-2 herself through painting.

“No matter what you do, if you believe in yourself and other people believe in you and you believe in a creator upstairs that you can talk to, you can do anything,” Minor said.

She painted Numan’s Sunday and is looking forward to to painting other local businesses soon.
