Holiday weekend plans in Jonesborough

JONESBOROUGH, TN – Tennessee’s oldest town invites you to take part in the big holiday weekend it has planned.

This weekend you can shop during small business Saturday, participate in Whoville Christmas and take part in the annual tree lighting ceremony. The celebration starts Saturday at 6 p.m. at Courthouse Square downtown.

Before the tree lighting, the whole family is invited to Whoville Christmas from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. A gingerbread house making class begins at 1 at the International Storytelling Center. It’s free for kids 5 to 12 years of age.
