ERWIN, TN (WJHL) – The Bramble in Downtown Erwin opened their doors for Small Business Saturday to provide a home for local artists and craftsman to sell and mingle with the community.
“I depend on this day a lot. I love that Kristin and them make this space available for us like this to get more people in,” Markland said.
Kristin Anders and Jamie Rice co-own The Bramble.
“Our small businesses here in Erwin are really our identity and the more we promote these small businesses the more people understand who we are,” Rice said.
Erwin native, Jan Day said she loves her hometown and loves to see it grow.
“I love what is happening in our downtown area, it’s just like a breath of fresh air. They’re only as good as we help them to be,” Day said.
“I think people smell stuff and then they come in. This is a great opportunity for people that maybe want to start a storefront to get a following,” Shurtz said.
This tight-knit community is all for one cause, on a day celebrating the people who make hometowns a place to call home.
“I love Erwin, it’s a good hometown and I just want to support it,” Haden Berry said.
The Bramble co-owners tell us they hope to continue to celebrate small businesses for years to come and they encourage people to shop local not only during the holidays but throughout the year.
