SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men who reportedly stole several cars.
According to a SCSO news release, Austin Allen Livingston, 24, and James Malone, 22, were charged in the theft of eight vehicles.
Detectives said most of the vehicles were taken in the morning or at night when people left their cars running or unattended while it was warming up.
They said most of the vehicles stolen had the keys to the vehicle inside.
Deputies recovered the eight vehicles in the Piney Flats and Hickory Tree area of the county.
Livingston was charged with four counts of theft of property over $1,000, three counts of theft of property over $10,000 and six counts of conspiracy.
Malone was charged with five counts of theft of property over $1,000, two counts of theft of property over $10,000 and six counts of conspiracy.
Both were taken to the Sullivan County Jail and were being held on $3,000 bond.
According to the release, Livingston and Malone also have charges pending out of Carter County.
