MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Nov. 21, 2016) – Sophomore Sarah Robinson earned her first Appalachian Athletic Conference women’s basketball player of the week honor this season, third of her career, announced the league office Monday afternoon.
Robinson led the Buffaloes to a four-game winning streak by picking up two big conference wins last week. Robinson averaged 21.5 points per game and eight rebounds last week to improve Milligan’s record to 4-2 overall, and to remain undefeated in conference play at 2-0.
In the mid-week showdown against Tennessee Wesleyan, Robinson recorded a game-high 20 points with six rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead the Buffs to an 87-67 victory. To finish off the week, Robinson added to her success with a season high of 23 points against St. Andrews on Saturday. Robinson picked up her second double-double of the season with 10 rebounds, along with two assists.
Currently, Robinson is ranked eighth in the nation in field goal percentage and fifth in 3-pt field goal percentage.
The Buffaloes return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 21, to host the Lady Bears of Truett-McConnell. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. as Milligan looks to remain perfect in AAC play
