VSP investigating fatal Washington County crash involving stolen car

WASHINGTON COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – A Kingsport man died in a single-car crash in Washington County, Va., late Wednesday night.

A Virginia State Police trooper was called to the crash on Wagner Road, less then a mile west of Route 641, just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. He found a 1985 Nissan 300ZX had left the road, struck a tree and overturned.

The driver, Skiler J. Light, 24, Kingsport, was partially ejected from the car. He died at the scene.

VSP said speed was a factor in the crash and that the Nissan had been reported stolen out of Bristol, Tenn. The license plates on the car were reported stolen from Kingsport.

The crash remains under investigation.
