Veterans Day freebies and deals

(WJHL) –  Active-military and veterans can enjoy exclusive freebies and discounts, this Veterans Day, from businesses who want to salute and simple say: “Thank you.” Many of the deals require a military ID to redeem.

Do you know a veteran who could benefit from these freebies? Do you want to take them out for a meal to help them redeem a freebie? Please show your thanks and share this story with them.

The following deals and freebies were compiled by a savings expert on Veterans Day Deals. 

  • Applebee’s – In honor of their services, veterans and active duty military get a free meal.
  • Chili’s – Veterans, retirees, and active duty personnel can choose a free entree from a select menu on November 11.
  • Chuck E Cheese – With a Uniformed Service I.D. or Common Access Card, current and former military personnel can gobble down a free personal pizza.
  • Golden Corral – On Monday, November 14, veterans and active duty personnel will be honored with a free meal and beverage.
  • Hooters – This Veterans Day, diners with proof of service can choose a free entree from an exclusive Veteran’s Day menu. The menu includes wings, burgers, sandwiches, and other Hooters favorites.
  • O’Charley’s – This November 11, Veterans and active duty members will be treated to a free meal.
  • Olive Garden – Current and former service members can choose a free meal from a select menu. Valid for dine in only; proof of service required.
  • Outback Steakhouse – This year, all current and former service members with I.D. can enjoy two steakhouse specials: * A free Bloomin’ Onion with a choice of beverage. * 15% off the check for military personnel and their families from November 12 – December 31.
  • Shoney’s – This year, vets and active duty military can chow down on a free All American Burger.
  • Starbucks is offering a free tall coffee to veterans, active duty military and military spouses all day on November 11.
  • Bob Evans – To celebrate the holiday, current and former service members can dig their forks into a free breakfast all day long.
  • Einstein Bros. Bagels – Current and former service members in the Shmear Society e-club can receive a coupon for a free bagel and shmear with purchase.
  • Denny’s – Active, inactive, and retired military personnel can build a free Grand Slam from 5 a.m. – 12 p.m. The breakfast includes a choice of four items, such as buttermilk pancakes, eggs, turkey bacon, sausage links, and english muffins.
  • Texas Roadhouse – Veterans and active duty members can dig into a free lunch on the holiday.
  • Carrabba’s – From November 7 – 13, vets and active military can receive a free appetizer. To get the deal, bring along a military I.D. or uniform.
  • Gordon Biersch – Veterans and active military can head on over for a free appetizer.
  • Ruby Tuesday – Veterans and active duty personnel can begin their meal with a free appetizer on November 11.
  • Army Corps of Engineers – This Veterans Day, veterans, active and reserve component service members, and their families enjoy free admission to USACE-operated recreation areas. This includes access to lakes and river projects, as well as swimming beach and boat launch fees.
  • Brides Across America – During the month of November, Brides Across America is partnering with bridal salons across the nation to give away free wedding dresses to qualified military brides. All military brides must pre-register online.
  • Home Depot – This year, Home Depot is honoring Veterans Day with two specials: * A free Build a Veteran’s Day Jet workshop for kids ages 5 -12. The event runs from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., and includes a craft, certificate of achievement, workshop apron, and commemorative pin while supplies last. * A 10% discount on purchases.
  • Great Clips – Veterans can get a free haircut card. All customers who purchase a salon service may take home a haircut card to give to a veteran. The card is valid from November 12 – December 31.
  • Lowe’s – On November 11, all veterans and their family can receive 10% off purchases.
  • Rack Room Shoes – In honor of Veterans Day, shoppers with valid military I.D. can take 10% off their purchase.
  • Sports Clips – At participating locations, veterans and current service members can score a free haircutwith proof of service.
  • Walgreens – This Veterans Day, customers with Walgreens Balance Rewards cards and valid military I.D. can take 20% off all eligible purchases.
  • Westgate Resorts – On Veterans Day, guests can get 25% off their rooms. In addition, military personnel and their families can apply for a free vacation package. The first 1,000 applicants will receive a complimentary three-day, two-night vacation for up to four people at Westgate Town Center Resort from May 5-7, 2017.
