Jonesborough mayor keeps seat following election

JONESBOROUGH, TN (WJHL)- In Jonesborough incumbent mayor Kelly Wolfe took the ticket Tuesday night.

Wolfe won just over 54% of the vote while his opponent, Charlie Moore took a little more than 44% of the vote.

Mayor Wolfe spoke with us minutes after the results came in.

“Really the ugliest presidential campaign in memory, and some not so nice things here going on in Jonesborough during this campaign, but the people of Jonesborough, they are a hopeful people, an optimistic people, and they are very positive about their town,” Wolfe said.

Also on the ballot, people in Jonesborough voted to elect Jerome Fitzgerald as an Alderman, and re-elected current Alderman Terry Countermine.
