City officials celebrate completion of flood mitigation project in Bristol, Va.

BRISTOL, VA (WJHL) – The City of Bristol, Va. celebrated the completion of a flood mitigation project Wednesday.

The Beaver Creek Flood Damage Reduction Project is now finished.

It’s designed to protect downtown Bristol from potential flood damage.

The project included removing the bridge at 8th Street and replacing the pedestrian bridge on the Wes Davis Greenway.
