Rep. Timothy Hill wins District 3 seat

TRI-CITIES, TN (WJHL)- Republican incumbent Timothy Hill will keep his seat as the TN House District 3 Representative.

Hill was first elected 2012 and was seeking his 3rd term serving Johnson, and part of Carter and Sullivan counties.

Hill was running against Independent Gary Kawula, an Army veteran running for office for the first time. blank-wjhl-ballot1 WJHL Ballot election vote

“I’ve been a conservative all my life and pretty much Republican most of my life. I have decided that the Tennessee legislature has abandoned the middle class and the working poor,” Kawula said.

“It’s been a tremendous honor and a tremendous amount of work and responsibility to serve the last two terms, we’ve done a lot of good things, a lot of good work and there’s still a lot of work to be done,” Timothy Hill said.

Hill was recently selected as the House Majority Whip. Hill said his top priorities as a representative are protecting the 2nd amendment and repealing grocery tax.
