JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Dozens came out to ETSU Sunday morning to support the University’s future educators.
The Child Study Center and The Center for Physical Activity collaborated for their second Homecoming 5K. The Center teaches ETSU students classroom development skills while still in school, all proceeds from the run go towards classroom and playground materials.
Organizers said this fundraising is crucial to the department.
“They wouldn’t be able to help fund the classrooms and get the equipment that they need and supplies to continue on with the great work that they do,” Jonathan Sasser of ETSU’s Campus Recreation said.
So far they’ve raised over $300. If you missed it this year, don’t worry, they plan to host it again next year the Sunday before Homecoming.
