New shopping center at old Johnson City tobacco warehouse welcoming new tenants

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – A project aimed at bringing more businesses to the downtown area is welcoming new tenants.

Owl’s Nest Clothing and More opened its doors Friday, in what is now called Cherry Street Commons. That is the former old tobacco warehouse.

“I would say two years ago we wouldn’t have considered this as much as we would now, but after the other local businesses that have opened up now it’s the place to be,” said Owl’s Nest co-owner Brian Moore.

“It’s humbling, it really is to be part of something so big in downtown Johnson City,” said co-owner Jessica Moore.

Owl’s Nest will hold its grand opening Saturday, November 12th.

Olson’s Marshall Arts opened in the building a few weeks ago. A boutique called Urban Collective is scheduled to open soon.
