Jacob’s Nature Park now open to the public

(WJHL) – A local little boy was remembered Friday as members of his family and the community gathered to celebrate a very special dedication.

Jacob Francisco passed away in June of 2004 fro an E. coli infection contracted from an unknown source.

On Friday, Francisco’s family and other community members celebrated him during the dedication of Jacob’s Nature Park — at Sinking Creek, 1220 King Springs Road —  where they said he touched so many during his short life.

Jacob’s Park is now open to the public and offers several hiking trails, a watershed and an abundance of wildlife including fish, frogs, salamanders and several varieties of birds.
