JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL)- The American Cancer Society is closing its Johnson City location.
“The office will be closing by the end of the calendar year,” Greg Broy, Director, Division Communications for the American Cancer Society said.
Broy gave us this statement:
While our physical office space in the Tri-Cities area is changing, the American Cancer Society presence is not. Our program and fundraising staff who have worked in the Tri-Cities area will continue to support our important work in the community.
We continuously evaluate our operational effectiveness to ensure that we are committing sufficient resources to help our staff and volunteers work toward our mission to end cancer.
Ultimately, more efficient use of office space will result in a greater percentage of funds raised going directly to help the most people, end the most suffering, and save more lives from cancer.”
He also said one administrative position is being eliminated with the building closure.”Six staff members will continue to work in the area, and with our volunteers and partners, to support the important work of the American Cancer Society in the community,” Broy said.
