Mall at Johnson City plants Christmas tree

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – The holiday season is getting in full swing at the Mall at Johnson City with the planting of a large Christmas tree on the mall property.

The Christmas tree planted in a traffic island near the entrance of Sears is a Norway spruce that stands nearly 21-feet-tall and weighs nearly 6000 pounds, according to Mike Duncan with Custom Gardens by Englewood Lawn and Landscapes.

The Norway spruce tree will become the annual Christmas tree for the Mall at Johnson City.

A tree lighting ceremony will take place on November 12 from 5 to 6 p.m.
