GRAY, TN (WJHL) – Boones Creek Elementary School hosted their first family involvement night on Oct. 27 with a fitting Halloween theme for the season – “It’s a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”
According to a news release from the school, over 350 students, parents, faculty and staff attended the event
Hands-on literacy, math and science stations were set up through the school complete with fun activities such as searching through the Pumpkin Patch Synonym/Sight Word Match, creating a Scarecrow Puppet and conducting experiments with pumpkins using S.T.E.M. standards.
Before the school’s family involvement night, parents and students were also asked to participate “Pumpkin Book Report,” where families read a favorite book together and designed a pumpkin to represent the main character.
According to the release, over 150 character pumpkins and book reports were displayed in the school’s library. In the school’s Little Theater, parents and students also watched Peanuts characters perform a Reader’s Theater.
