Washington Co. deputies arrest Sulphur Springs man on auto burglary charge

WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man Monday, following an auto burglary investigation at an area school.

According to a WCSO news release, Robert L. Rose, Jr., 26, of Sulphur Springs, was arrested after a witness saw him get inside an unlocked vehicle at Sulphur Springs Elementary School and take a purse.

Rose reportedly confessed to deputies and told them where he hid the purse and its contents.

Deputies were able to recover the purse and returned it to the owner.

Rose was arrested and charged with one count of burglary to a motor vehicle and was taken to the Washington County Detention Center.

He was being held on $10,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court Tuesday at 10 a.m.
