SNEEDVILLE, TN (WATE/WJHL) – A Hawkins County teenager died in a car crash in Hancock County late Monday afternoon. The crash happened close to 4:30 p.m., according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol crash report.

Investigators say the two Hawkins County teens were riding in a 1997 Chevrolet S14 pick-up truck that was traveling eastbound on Roberts Road. The passenger, Nathanael Seal, 15 of Edison, TN , died in the crash.

According to the report, the driver drove off the right side of the road and crossed back over into both lanes. A THP report says the car proceeded to go off the left side of the road before overturning several times and landing in an embankment.

Investigators say speed may have played a role and seat belts were not worn at the time of the crash. There is no information on the driver’s condition.

The teenage driver is also from Edison, TN  – according to a THP crash report.  Edison is located in Hawkins County.

Seal was a football player at Hancock County High School.
