JCPD officers charge couple found with crystal meth, drug paraphernalia at local motel

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officer’s arrested a couple after they were found with crystal methamphetamine at a local motel.

According to a JCPD news release, officers responded to Econo Lodge, 207 E. Mountcastle Drive, after receiving information about Jason Taylor, 38, of Johnson City, being involved in selling illegal narcotics and was staying at the motel.

When officers arrived, they made contact with Jason and Misty Taylor, 35, also of Johnson City, in the motel room.

During a search of Jason Taylor, officers found a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine and cash. A search of the room revealed several items of drug paraphernalia.

Both Jason and Misty Taylor were arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center.

Jason Taylor was charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Misty Taylor was charged with maintaining a dwelling where controlled substances are sold and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were being held in the detention center on $11,000 bond each, and were both scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court Monday at 9 a.m.
