Duo in stolen truck arrested after high-speed chase in Sullivan Co.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – Two men were arrested Sunday night after leading Kingsport police and Sullivan County deputies on a chase in a stolen truck.

Kingsport police spotted the men in a Dodge truck around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday. Deputies say the truck was stolen from the Rock Springs area.

According to Sullivan County authorities, once the chase entered county jurisdiction the men then lead deputies on a 9-mile chase before crashing the truck into a two-car garage on Sullivan Gardens Drive. The crash damaged the doors of the garage and the part of the building.

The driver, 27-year-old Ronnie Horton and his passenger 21-year-old Jared Winston were arrested.

Both were taken to the Indian Path Medical Center before they were taken to Sullivan County Jail.
Horton was charged with violation of probation, speeding, driving while license is suspended, evading arrest, reckless driving, driving under the influence, and stolen property.

Winston was charged with stolen property and evading arrest.

Both of the men are from Kingsport.
