BRISTOL, TN (WJHL) – Bristol, Tenn. Police Department officers arrested a man on burglary, theft and other charges after responding to an alarm at a home on Broad Street Thursday.
According to the news release, officers responded to the home and saw a man with a backpack walking in the alley way behind the residence.
Officers asked the man to stop, but the man started to run away.
After a brief chase, the man — later identified as Joshua Delp, 25, of Bristol, Tenn. — was caught and detained.
In Delp’s backpack, officers found several items taken from the victim’s home. Police said there were also other items inside the backpack that were taken from the home from other burglaries.
Delp was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary, theft under $500, vandalism under $500, simple possession/casual exchange, unlawful drug paraphernalia, evading arrest and possession of burglary tools.
He was taken to the Sullivan County Jail for booking, and additional charges are pending for the other burglaries.
