JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL)- A family fun run brought out dozens of people to the campus of ETSU Saturday morning.
There were two races on Saturday, the first was a modified race.
CEO of Niswonger Children’s Hospital, Lisa Carter, said that 200 yard race featured children who are enrolled in therapy services at Niswonger Children’s Hospital.
“They have overcome a lot of different things to be here today, and that really celebrates the human spirit. Often times those kids really struggle with just taking a few steps, so we all line up cheer them on, help them win, because they are all winners,” Carter said.
There was also a 2-mile Scarecrow Skedaddle run that took participants on a course around the campus of ETSU.
After the races were over families had the opportunity to participate in activities and win prizes during the family activity day inside the mini dome.
