KANSAS CITY, MO (WSPA) – Babies in the neonatal intensive care unit at a hospital in Missouri were dressed up in cute costumes to let them celebrate Halloween and help their families through an emotional time.
March of Dimes provided babies at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City with handmade Halloween costumes, a “Trick or Treat, smell my feet” card with their baby’s footprints, a hand-crocheted pumpkin filled with treats, and a Halloween book that families could read together.
The costumes and treats were delivered to around 35 babies in the NICU.
Volunteers with March of Dimes along with Saint Luke’s NICU nurses made the costumes and a staff member from Saint Luke’s crocheted all of the pumpkins.
The photos were taken by moms of former NICU babies: Emmalee Schaumburg with Schaumburg Photography, Sally Morrow with Sally Morrow Photography & Helen Ransom with Faces You Love Photography.
