Greeneville repeats as Class A-AA state soccer champions

MURFREESBORO, TN- The Greeneville girl’s soccer won its second straight Class A-AA Championship, defeating CPA on Saturday 1-0.

“One was great but two is amazing,” said Greeneville senior Jessica Sallah. “Hopefully they can keep it going for more and more years.”

Neither team would find the back of the net in the first half, heading into the break scoreless. In the second half, Sallah lifted a shot just over the keeper’s arm into the net for the game’s lone goal.

“Feels very good,” said Greeneville goalkeeper Hannah Leonard. “Ready to head back to Greeneville and celebrate with our whole school.”

“It’s an outstanding feeling and it’s a tribute to these young ladies, not only last year, but certainly this year,” said Greeneville head coach John Eiskamp. “All the work and effort they put in during the summer to get back to this point is just outstanding.”
