COOKEVILLE, TN (WJHL) – State special agents say a Monroe, TN couple is facing several counts of statutory rape. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation began their probe on February 12, 2015.
Agents connected 36-year-old Travis Puckett and 46-year-old Tracie Puckett to several sexual crimes involving a teenage victim. The incidents allegedly happened in 2007, while Travis and Traci volunteered at the same church as the victim.
This week, Clay County Grand Jury indicted Travis on nine counts of Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure and Traci was indicted on four counts of Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure.
The couple turned themselves in on Thursday. Travis is currently being held on $45,000 bond, while Traci is being held on $20,000 bond.
The couple is also facing similar charges in Overton County, TN. Both are facing three counts each of Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure and three counts of Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure in that county.
Special agents say the investigation in ongoing in this case.
