Morristown police arrest driver accused of hitting boy getting off school bus, driving off

MORRISTOWN (WATE) – Police in Morristown say they have arrested a driver accused of hitting a 6-year-old boy who was getting off the school bus Monday evening.

The police department said in a tweet Wednesday night Heather Williams was in custody in connection with the incident.

The Morristown Police Department says the boy was getting off the bus around 6:05 p.m. at Lincoln Avenue near Kennedy Circle when the driver says a white or gray car drove around the school bus. The boy walked around the stopped bus when the vehicle struck the boy and fled the scene.

The boy was taken to Morristown Hamblen Hospital for treatment of injuries. His condition has not been released.
