BRISTOL, TN (WJHL) – East Tennessee State University’s football team made more than $27,000 by playing a game at Bristol Motor Speedway last month.
ETSU Athletics reports the gross revenue from that Western Carolina game is the second highest single game number since football’s return, second only to the first game of the inaugural season. Records show the 2015 opener against Kennesaw State brought in more than $31,000 in revenue.
As we previously reported, ETSU’s contract with BMS guaranteed the university 20% of all ticket sales after it sold its 6,000 ticket allotment. It also gave the Bucs 20% of the title sponsorship revenue.
The BMS game set a new attendance record for ETSU Football.
