BIG STONE GAP, VA (WJHL) – On Wednesday, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe will visit our region.

According to a news release from the governor’s office, McAuliffe will award power initiative grants during an appearance at Mountain Empire Community College in Big Stone Gap, Va.

McAuliffe’s visit is set for 2 p.m.

A previous report from Aurora Flight Sciences said the company is looking to expand its testing in Wise County at Lonesome Pine Airport.

Aurora wants to begin flight operations in Wise County at the beginning of 2017.

The move would establish Wise County as a research, development and operational hub for unmanned aircraft systems.
