SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – Deputies with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s office have arrested a man who led officers on a chase across state lines early Saturday morning.
Authorities say 34-year-old Mark Morrison led Tennessee sheriff deputies and officers in Virginia on a chase long I-81 and I-26.
According to reports, Morrison threw meth and a loaded firearm from the vehicle. He abandoned the car, and was caught by officers during a chase on foot near the Lynn Garden exit in Sullivan County. Morrison has prior warrants in Virginia for malicious wounding and failure to appear. He also has prior warrants in Tennessee for felony evading and traffic charges.
Morrison is now being charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of schedule II drugs, tampering with evidence, reckless endangerment and felony evading.
