2 suspects in Nashville tourist murder arrested in North Carolina; 3rd suspect sought

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) –Two suspects in the murder of a California tourist in Nashville last month have been arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Andy Nunez, 22, and 20-year-old Daniela Cruz of La Vergne, Tennessee were both wanted for homicide in connection to the murder of Teddy Grasset.

A third suspect, parolee 25-year-old Joseph Santillan is also being sought by police in the case.Raleigh police arrested the two on warrants issued by Metro police.

Grasset, who was visiting from California with a friend, was killed in an attempted robbery on Fourth Avenue South near Demonbreun Street on Sept. 25.

Metro police told News 2 Grasset and a friend were walking down 4th Avenue towards Korean Veterans Boulevard when a gray Chevrolet Impala pulled up behind them and two men got out of the car. The driver remained inside the vehicle.

According to police, one of the suspects fired a shot and hit Grasset who was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died. The second victim was not injured.

Both suspects are currently being held in the Wake County jail in North Carolina.
