Johnson City man allegedly strikes man in back with bat during fight

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – A Johnson City man is facing charges of aggravated assault after he allegedly attacked a person with a bat.

Police arrested 53-year-old Donald Brummitt on Thursday evening after they responded to a fight on Carter Avenue.

Brummit allegedly went to his home during the fight and returned with a baseball bat and struck the victim in the back.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Brummitt is currently behind bars at the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 bond. He is expected to appear in General Sessions court on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
