Knoxville’s Muggle-Con to celebrate the wizarding world of Harry Potter

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Harry Potter fans will be transported to Hogwarts just in time for Halloween.

Barnes & Noble and Transfiguring Adoption are hosting Muggle-Con 2016. The event from October 29-30 will celebrate the wizarding world of Harry Potter.  There will be “Fantastic Beasts” from Zoo Knoxville Saturday. Attendees can watch the University of Tennessee and Nox quidditch teams also on that day. On Sunday, there will be a trivia contest.

Witches and wizards can wear their costumes, however, muggles are welcome. Also, attendees can deposit money into Gringotts, be sorted into houses, design a patronous and fight off a dementor.

Transfiguring Adoption supports foster children. Barnes & Noble will be raising funds and donating books for the non-profit’s foster care kits. The non-profit provides resources to foster parents on how to explain situations, connects families for support groups.

The free event will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Barnes & Noble at 8029 Kingston Pike.
