Man to face assault, reckless endangerment charges after shooting firearm on Hillcrest Drive

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a man Monday on assault and reckless endangerment charges following a call about shots fired in the Hillcrest Drive and Hamilton Street area of Johnson City.

According to a JCPD news release, officers responded to Hillcrest Drive and Hamilton Street on the shots fired call and then officers were called to Moreland Drive on a fight in-progress call.

Officers determined the two incidents were related and an investigation revealed that Kevin Dwayne Summie, 45, had fired a firearm on Hillcrest Drive.

Summie was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $50,000 bond.

Summie was scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court Tuesday.
