Animal Rehabilitation At Lees-McRae College

The beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountain region doesn’t just make for great selfies and fun adventures. It’s home to thousands of wildlife creatures, as well. Many of those animals, unfortunately, will be injured at one time or another. The Dan and Dianne May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at Lees-McRae College is the only rehabilitation center on a college campus in the United States! Located just a short drive away in Banner Elk, NC, the center treats over 1400 animals every year from bunnies to bobcats. Director Nina Fishesser joins us this morning with an up close look at a few of the animals they are rehabilitating. For more, visit their website.
