JC Brewing Company helps beautify Jacob’s Nature Park

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Jacob’s Nature Park at Sinking Creek in Johnson City is inspired by a little boy named Jacob Francisco, who died in 2004 from an unknown source of E.coli infection.

jacobVarious organizations are working towards ridding Sinking Creek of E.coli. Saturday, the Johnson City Brewing Company came out to plant East Tennessee native plants as they work to beautify the park.

Jacob’s dad, Bill Francisco now works to educate people on the dangers of E.coli.

“When it happened to us it was such a pain it just seemed like something had to be done to make sure that other families don’t go through the same thing. This park embodies how he lived his six years, it’s inspiring,” Francisco said.

Bill encourages people to come out and enjoy nature as the neighborhood continues to take care of Sinking Creek.
