Bob Dylan wins Nobel Prize in literature, First American to do so in 13 years


LONDON (AP) – Singer and songwriter Bob Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition”.

Dylan is the first american in 13 years to win the literature Nobel prize.

The award is one of the world’s most prestigious literature awards.

The prize is given for a lifetime of writing rather than a single work of literature.
